Concerts in the Park 2008

Gather with your friends and neighbors in Wilson Park for great music, special performances by local organizations, area vendors, and the notorious Backstreet CruiZers, Lakeside Cruise car shows. While you're there, grab some food, such as the famous "Walking Taco" from the Parks and Recreation commisions concessions stand. The concerts are free but donations are always accepted.

One of the most popular bands in "Concerts in the Park" history, Gemini writes and plays acoustic music for children and families, celebrating the fun, warmth, and humor of family life. Their recording and concerts are filled with rousing sing-alongs, folk tales, and music from around the world.

Laura Russeau & The Dirty Sheets........................July 31st

A local staple in the music sense since 2000, Laura Russeau & The Dirty Sheets play a euphoric blend of americana and rock that is sure to please. Their show at the 2008 Discover Milan Day was a hit, so you wont want to miss this one!

Ypsilanti Community Band.............................................August 7th

Back by popular demand, the Ypsilanti Community Band is an 80 piece concert band featuring musicians in their late teens to members well over 80! The band has a rich tradition of music and adhere's to a strict "no auditions" policy to welcome as many musicians as possible. A must see event for fans of concert and classical bands!

Fiddlers ReStrung................................................................August 14th

Fiddlers ReStrung, from Saline High School, is one of the best high school level bluegrass and American folk music programs ever created. Students have performed throughout North America, Scottland, the White House and the Kennedy Center. Come out and support this local favorite.
